NVIDIA CEO Jen-Hsun Huang Says AI May Pass Human Tests in 5 Years
March 3 - At an economic forum at Stanford University, theNVIDIA, computer graphics card company CEO Huang Jen-hsun (1944-), Chinese-American physicistIn response to the question 'how long will it take to create computers that can think like humans', it was stated that the answer depends very much on how the goal is defined. If the definition is to be able to pass human tests, then general-purpose artificial intelligence (AGI) will be coming soon.
"If I gave artificial intelligence ...... every test you can imagine and put it in front of the computer science industry," says Jen-Hsun Huang, "I'm guessing that five years from now, we'll be doing well on every test."
But Jen-Hsun Huang also said that generalized AI, by other definitions, could be far away because scientists still disagree on describing how the human brain works. "It is therefore difficult to realize it as an engineer because engineers need clear goals," Jen-Hsun Huang said.
